BASF is currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province. Announced in July 2018 and offBASF is currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province. Announced in July 2018 and officially commenced in November 2019, BASF Guangdong Verbund site project would be BASF’s largest investment with up to US$10 billion upon completion and would be operated under the sole responsibility of BASF. The site would ultimately be the third-largest BASF site worldwide, and will be built into a role model for smart manufacturing and sustainable production by utilizing the latest digital technologies and applying the highest safety standards.
Main Tasks
- Support execution of system regular check procedure in BIG.
- Well understand system upgrading / migration roadmap, support staffing plan and execute accordingly.
- Support management of the software licenses. Assist reevaluation and procurement to utmost benefit at site level with synergy mindset.
- Implement the MoC particularly the complex ones.
- Support trouble shooting, root cause analysis, improvement solution proposal and execution, etc...
- Support/coordinate DCS relevant activities in global/regional technical community
- Protects BASF know-how and confidential information
- Support internal train plan, prepare training material and offer the trainings accordingly.
- Collect lesson learnt in daily work, collect best practices / proposals from suppliers or other outsources, and develop solutions most fit to BASF.
- Responsible for functional, on time and within budget technical planning for the technical processing and procurement of DCS for very large/complex projects and project groups. Support cost estimations of DCS part for projects.
- Monitor and supervise suppliers. Promote and use continuing relationships with DCS suppliers to obtain total cost of ownership benefits.
- Consulting function in area of DCS expertise and with EPC-contractors.
- Provides technical support to resolve issues regarding DCS and to promote best practices and effective use of the latest knowledge across DCS.
- Development of specifications, ITBs and typical DCS solutions to support projects.
- Responsible for resource estimation of DCS execution.
- Coordination of quality assurance for goods and services in DCS areas.
- Compliance with agreed health, safety and environmental objectives
- Early coordination of tasks and responsibilities within the respective projects.
- Alignment of all team members within the project/in sub-projects towards the common project objectives.
- Active and intercultural cooperation with clients, EPC contractors as well as all project participants within the BASF Group.
- Join relevant experience exchange and share the best practices within BIG relevant stakeholders and maintenance team for sustainable development and improvement on site DCS equipment/system management.
- Support sustainable BIG technical expertise development in the area of DCS discipline; Coordinate to promote best practices and effective use of the latest DCS equipment/system knowledge.
- Participate relevant activities in global/regional technical community by chance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’ degree or above in process control / automation.
- 8+ years total work experience mandatory;5+ years’ work experience in specific professional field (in DCS) preferable;3+ years’ work experiences in chemical and petrochemical industry mandatory.
- International experience is an advantage;
- Basic knowledge in petrochemical/chemical field & central maintenance and its methods, program management;
- Good DCS engineering / maintenance knowledge;
- Good skill in PLC preferred, knowledgeable in field instrumentation is an added value;
- Good communicator, good team player;
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
